After leaving the dog sled race I walked over to a tourist information office and inquired as to how it would be possible to best be positioned to view the Northern Lights. Several places were recommended included a resort called Chena Hot Springs located about 65 miles away. Since I read about this particular location I decided to make the trip. For some reason it seemed that the 65 miles took an eternity, perhaps I was being cautious and driving extra slow after seeing the moose advisory sign on the road at various points as I made the journey.
