Sailed passed Swinburne Island today. Kinda creepy. For more information check out:

On the less creepy side there was the Queen Mary 2 shortly after it passed the Verazzanno Bridge.

The real price of oil - Black Gold

Why does it seem that the major OPEC countries hate or have major disputes with the United States? Shouldn't they be glad that the US is pouring billions of dollars into their economies?

1) Keep in mind that 15 of the 19 Sept. 11 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia.
2) President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela routinely refers to President Bush as Senor Peligro (Mr. Danger). Ironically,
PetrĂ³leos de Venezuela
, a Venezuelan state-owned petroleum company, runs over 12,000 Citgo gas stations in the US.
3) We invaded Iraq and by the way things are going I would figure there is plenty of opposition to our presence.
4) The infamous anti US television station AlJazeera is located in Qatar.
5) The people of the Niger Delta where 96% of Nigeria's oil revenue originates are amongst the poorest. Militants have recently attacked the oil production facilities of Shell Oil in that country.
6) Qatar has donated money to the new Hamas government in Palestine. A government the US is attempting to undermine both economically and politically.
7) Iran has also donated money to Hamas, is enriching uranium for a potential nuclear weapon, and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has dismissed US calls for cessation of its enrichment program.
8) In a recent event that marked the 20th anniversary of the 1986 bombing raid on Libya by US forces, the nation's official news agency JANA has reiterated its demands for a US apology.
9) The US turned down a bid by the UAE (United Arab Emirates) to manage the operations at several major ports although these same ports are managed by a British firm. The UAE is a strategic partner with the US against the war on terrorism. Hence the denial of this deal almost appears racist.

What does this all mean? Well, I think we'd better expedite our hydrogen fuel research. I tend to believe that its in OPEC's best interest to create strife and animosity in order to raise oil prices. Unless we have a regime change in all the OPEC nations the price of oil will steadily increase. So can someone please tell me when I can drive my Hydrogen powered vehicle?

Underground Radio in Brooklyn - 97.5 FM

dancerGalore Riddim-Dr.Evil-More Punanny

So it's midnight and I stumble across a station on the FM dial [97.5 FM] apparently manned by the "Gully Crew" that doesn't seem it should be there. Hey, it's Brooklyn, anything goes. It's pretty hilarous because they have an open request line [
718-766-7490]
and are ripping up Dr. Evil's More Punanny [click above link to listen] that rides on the catchy Galore Riddim while chicken heads call to discuss their waist sizes. The following day they are rocking Celine Dion songs while blaring a dancehall horn and screaming shout outs to all the future wifies. Hey they gotta lotta heart and hence they deserve some attention. It appears they only broadcast in the evening so listen out.

Iran and nuclear enrichment

So the list of countries with declared nuclear weapons are the US, Russia, UK, France, China, India, Pakistan, and North Korea (questionable). Other countries with known nuclear capability are Canada, Germany, Japan, Italy, Lithuania, and the Netherlands. Now Iran jumps into the picture and the US isn't very happy. We should keep in mind that although there might be an uproar against Iran's technological advancement we should be mindful that this type of rhetoric might be contrary to developing a long term relationship with the Middle East. Will further progress in Iran's nuclear program result in the eventual reduced dependency on its own oil supply? Will this potential scenario lead to an increased oil supply, therefore lower prices at the pump? Regardless of the impact, it is difficult to imagine a world that is being pushed towards operating a free market economy yet be limited in its capability of maximizing its own markets. Eventually all peoples (as opposed to nations) will achieve space flight, nuclear capability, and other major technological breakthroughs, although it is simply a matter of how soon it will happen. Current attempts to hinder such progress might be good for short term security, but it will alienate us from future discussions related to the economic development of non-Western countries or those with opposing values.

Immigration laws and NYC

I guess somewhere in the past decade immigration must have gone out of style. Its tough being an illegal immigrant especially since nowadays one is most likely to be exploited and then shipped back to their country of origin. I wonder how the Native Americans feel about the current immigration bill circulating through congress?

LHERISSON.COM is alive

I was reading somewhere that someone should pass a law to remove abandoned web sites so I started to feel guilty and decided to touch up the LHERISSON.COM site. Although I don't really have much time to dedicate to the site I am going to at least make sure the links are working on a periodic basis and perhaps even add some podcast content. Hopefully I'll get around to compressing some of the terrabytes of video content I have in DV format and post it to the site. In the future I'll post information specific to the Lherisson family name and if you have any suggestions leave it on the contact form.
